Well, this week has been a recharger for me! I feel absolutely great! After my interview with President, I put into practice what he told me. He told me to always be positive. If we have a positive outlook on life, it will be a whole lot easier. So, I am applying that to my life now. Although it is hard, and I am a little sick, I am smiling. And for that, my whole week has been entirely different. It is amazing how our thoughts affect our behavior. Really it is true. If we are happy, we will do great. If we are sad, we will do bad. It doesnt matter in what aspect in life. In all stages, we can apply that to our lives. We should always think in times of trials "I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, and if i work ahrd, and will live with god again." Then, although we go through tough trials, we can work through anything, because we realize that this life is only a short test. So much depends on our attitudes!
This week has been super busy! We have left the house at 8 each morning and havent gotten home until 9:30. We find ourselves often running to the house trying to make it in before 9:30. When we do that, we always get chased by dogs, but a good rock always wins.
To start off the week, we had a great christmas service project! We as a zone went to a old people´s home and sang a few christmas carols. We spent time talking with them, and it was a wonderful experiance to be with them. It was hilarious, because when we first got there we got to meet all of the old people, and when i got to an old lady, i stick out my hand to shake hers, and she says "que quapo! Que hermosura!" She then says to all of the sister missionaries around us, "if i were one of you girls, i would be sticking real close to him!" I about died! Haha they were all great people and we felt the spirit of the lord very strong there.
Also, in this week we had stake conference! It was a very spiritual experiance and we brought two families that are investigating the church. They loved it! Almost all of the wards of the valley los chillos attended, and so we were packed in the chapel with more then 500 people! It was great to see how many members of the church there are here. Our investigatores loved it, and we hope to see them in white soon!
The first session of conference was a priesthood leadership session, and it started at four, and they invited the zone leaders to go to it. That day we finished a lesson a little late, and we got to the stake center at about 4:20. We sat down, got ourselves all settled in the back, and we look up at the front, and there is President Christensen. I about fell out of my seat haha! He gave me the "where were you?" look, and afterwards gave us a wink. So we ended the reunion, and werent able to talk with him because we had a separate reunion with the stake presidency. It was a way great time, becuase it was me and my comp and the stake presidency, and we were able to make a few plans to have more success in our zone. Afterwards, the next session of conference started at 7, and so we got there early, and sat down. At about 7:15, President got there and sat down in front. It was a funny experiance, because afterwards he looked at me in the crowd, and i gave him the same "where were you?" face. He just looked at me and smiled. Afterwards, we talked for a bit and we introduced him to our investigatores. It was a great chance to spend time with him again. He really has had a strong influence on my life, and i know i will always look up to his example.
Well, this week is another busy one! We have the leaders conference tomorrow, so we are going to be in quito all day again.
All is well, I am happy, healthy, and working hard! I love you all so much and i am alwyas praying for you! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Love,
Elder Nielson
